A 19-year-old aspiring model is going viral & getting Thumbs ups for her cool response after a critic said she’d look better if her skin color was lighter.     Last week, a Twitter account _AFRICANS_"}">@AFRICANS, which celebrates African beauty in all its forms, shared a handful of Mimi Mbah's Instagram photos, which she'd taken while on vacation in Cameroon. In the pics, the young beauty sports an afro and posed in various places, including the beach and on a balcony overlooking the sea, needless to say, she looks gorgeous.

The tweet & pictures generated a lot of responses, most of which were positive. A few internet trolls, however, attacked Mbah for her dark skin. One particularly disgusting person (who also tweets non-stop about how rainbows are "for God, not gay people) wrote: "If she was lighter, she’d be fire.       "Though Mbah later told a magazine she "wasn’t surprised" when she received that tweet — it’s certainly nothing new for women of color to be shamed for their skin tone — she decided to fire back with the best response.

"No thanks, I wouldn’t trade my skin color for the world!," she wrote. "Still [fire] tho,".     Mbah's reply resonated with a lot of people: It received nearly 58,000 likes, and was retweeted more than 21,000 times, nearly all of which celebrated the dark-skinned beauty’s classy response  and undeniable beauty.

Continuing Speaking to the magazine, Mimi Mbah said she felt compelled to reply to the troll's comment to show others that "colorism is still real." She added: "It’s happened to me before and I think almost every dark skin girl can say the same too….I’m glad my tweet went viral because now I feel like I have a platform which I want to use to talk about things like that and give advice to other dark-skin women who are going through similar situations and probably blaming themselves for it."
